May was a great month starting off in Las Vegas and ending with a Bank Holiday. There lots of fun things in between including awards, charity lunches and getting back to business.
Viva Las Vegas
The final leg of my 2016 USA trip was back to Las Vegas, my blog post will be coming soon but we actually flew home on the 1st May so we had some final hours by the pool at the Palazzo! Once we landed it took me about a week to get over the jet lag, I think because when I got home I had a super busy week so I didn’t have too much time to sleep!
Business Life
When I got home it was straight back into life and May was extra busy for my business life! I attended a number of networking events, conferences and lunches. I also spent sometime working on getting back into my schedule and routine.
I attended 2 charity lunches. The first was for the Marie Curie Hospice on Leeds Road in Bradford. It was a lovely lunch held at the Midland Hotel.
The second was the Yorkshire Women in Business Awards which helps to raise money for Wheatfields Hospice in Leeds. I was nominated for a business award at the event, again it was a great afternoon and you can read all about it here.
I was also invited to another lunch with the Institute of Directors and Barclays Bank at The Devonshire Arms where Lady Judge was speaking. She shared her fascinating story and has been a real pioneer for women. Dessert on the day was extra delicious too!
Celebrations
On one Saturday in May I had a very busy day. With a charity breakfast to celebrate one friends birthday in the morning and then in the evening a 30th birthday party to celebrate another. It’s fun when there’s lots of celebrations happening!
The Bank Holiday
As most of May was very business focused when the bank holiday weekend arrived it was time to have some down time. On the Friday, after a meeting, myself and Keil met some friends for a meal at Cielo Blanco in Leeds followed by a cocktail at Angelicas. After a relaxing Saturday evening on the Sunday Keil and me went for a walk along the Leeds-Liverpool canal, stopping off at a couple of pubs along the way! Then on Monday after a good gym session we went to the cinema. It was exactly what was needed to end a busy month and be ready to take on June!
May was a great month for me, even though it was very business focused – When you love your businesses it doesn’t matter! I am now looking forward to a great June.
What did you do in May? Comment below.

Sounds like a great month! What did you think of Cielo Blanco? I still haven’t been there for a proper meal.

It was. I really enjoyed it, I’ve been a few times now and had something different every time, this time I went for the burrito which was very good but I’d also recommend the street food if you like to share! 🙂
