The first Saturday after the latest English lockdown began to ease. This meant the shops were back open and hospitality could be open with outdoor seating. It was nice to be able go somewhere else for a few hours and not have to cook!
I filmed the day as part of my Day in the Life series.
The First Saturday after Lockdown
As the sun was shining we walked along the Leeds Liverpool canal to the village of Saltaire. Here we stopped at The Terrace Cafe for lunch outdoors, I had the chicken burger which was so good! It was nice to be outside and able to stop for food and drink.
When it was time to head home we took the less scenic route along the main road and were home in time to watch Prince Philip’s funeral on the TV.
Later in the evening we enjoyed more of the nice weather outside in the garden. I did a little bit of gardening before heading back indoors for some prosecco.
The day finished watching some Los Angeles Chargers videos on the TV!
It was a nice way to spend a Saturday. It was good to get out of the house but also stick with some of our familiar Saturday rituals which we created during lockdown!
See one of my other Day in the Life videos which was Easter Monday here.
