Recently I travelled to Barbados and used airport assistance at Manchester Airport. It was the first time I have ever needed this, due to a broken ankle. At the time of travelling, I was unable to walk very far & was using crutches so I had help to the aircraft.
Once I arrived in Barbados I filmed a video on my balcony to share the experience as it was a positive one in case it helps anyone who is planning on travelling too.

Airport Assistance
I had help at both airports, which was easy to arrange through Aer Lingus. When I arrived in Barbados I decided not to wait for the lift that they have (I did use this on the way home and was fine) so I had help down the stairs.
Once I got to my hotel which was South Beach, they provided a wheelchair and shower chair, plus they had ramps to make it accessible.
