I was invited to the official launch of the new bar in Bradford, 1875. Situated on Ivegate in the centre of Bradford, 1875 is a new bar serving Indian street food.
I took Keil along on the evening, we are both proud to be from Bradford and it’s always great when a new venue opens. Bradford itself is having a little bit of a revival which I am so happy to see. With lots of new bars on north parade and at the west end plus the new Broadway shopping centre the next place which needs improvement is the city centre! 1875 is the first new place which is bringing the centre back to life. Hopefully more new businesses will follow and help to connect the city even more.
1875 already has a restaurant in Menston and this is more a bar than a restaurant but they will be serving food inspired by the Indian streets. We got to sample some of the food and everything we had was delicious!
The venue itself is huge and it is based where Edwards once was. It reminded me of my early drinking days when I used to visit Edwards and there is still a dance floor, a long bar and plenty of seating. Due to the size there is also plenty of potential for growth in the future. I am sure this will be a great bar on an evening but also good through the day and they are encouraging people to have business meetings with plenty of plug sockets and some nice booths to sit in.
The launch itself was busy with plenty of local business people in attendance. It’s nice to see so many people supporting local businesses and new ventures. We had a really enjoyable evening and wish 1875 all the best, we are sure we will be back either for lunch or for a few drinks on a night out.
It is great to see so many new businesses in Bradford, it is a city I’m proud to be from and I can’t wait to see it flourish even more in the months and years to come!
