We recently spent the weekend in Lancaster in Lancashire. We arrived on Friday and had a nice relaxing evening in our fabulous Airbnb which was on the grounds of Lancaster Castle. Then next morning, we set out exploring Lancaster.

Exploring Lancaster
We started the day by taking a tour of the iconic Lancaster Castle. It was a free tour but we had pre-booked due to covid number restrictions. It was really interesting to hear about the history of Lancaster Castle. It has a significant role in English crime and punishment, was home to many famous historical figures and was even part of the Pendle Witch Trials.
After the tour, we walked about 20 minutes in the sunshine for lunch at The Water Witch. It came highly recommended and we had a seat next to the canal. The food was delicious and was so lovely to be sat outside – It felt like a real holiday!
We had a lovely lunch sharing some honey and mustard chipolata sausages. Then I went for a club sandwich & Keil went for the jambalaya which was a special for the day.
We made our way back to the cottage for some chillout time before getting ready for the evening – It was my first time wearing heels in a long time!
Happy Hour in Lancaster
We had booked our table for cocktails at Tipple. They had a good selection and even had some happy hour drinks – We always manage to find a happy hour!
Next, we went for dinner which was something a little bit different in the form of South African inspired food. We went to The Mad Hunter and everything tasted so good. We had the sharing board which was incredible and then I went for the chicken and chorizo burger which was also fab. I would go back to Lancaster just to go here!
After all the good and food and drink, we headed back past the castle ready for another fun day exploring Lancaster the day after.
