Over the first part of this year, I have had more time on my hands, thanks to recovering from a broken ankle. During this time I have been reminded about the importance of investing in yourself, your learning and your own personal development.
That’s not to say you need an injury to start investing in yourself. For years, I have continued to focus on my personal learning journey investing in various courses, masterminds and coaching.
What this time did give me was a chance to catch up on a few courses I had let slide but also refocus on what areas I wanted to learn more about and spend my time on these too.
This year alone I have taken courses on business, Etsy, product design, EFT, Pinterest and more!

Invest in yourself
I have always liked to learn from those who have gone before me. I am grateful that others are willing to put their energy into sharing their own teachings and experiences to help me achieve my goals quicker.
The great thing about the current online climate is you can take loads of courses on pretty much anything. This can also be a downside too and you don’t want to become a serial course taker (or course buyer).
There have been times when I have been caught up in the marketing of a course and it hasn’t been right for me. Now, I have learnt to know where I am ready to learn and find the right fit for me.
The main thing about learning online and investing in your development is implementation.
It’s not just about taking a course, it’s about how you can use what have learnt to move forward with your new skills. After all, that’s what attracted you to invest in it in the first place. I will admit I’ve not always done this but now I am all about implementation!
When you take on a course (I have used course but I mean any type of learning program) you will need to make time for it and usually, there is a financial investment too. I think it is wonderful to be able to continue to learn and to have knowledge of so many different things.
This learning has helped me to grow multiple businesses and also helped me to work on my growth mindset. These are two things which you can continue to invest in as you move forward in life and business.
Whether you are investing your money or time (usually both) so long as you implement what you have learnt then it will never be a wasted investment.
