We had a brilliant staycation in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. Holmfirth is a village in the heart of West Yorkshire in Holme Valley and is best known for being the backdrop to the UK sitcom Last of the Summer Wine.
I documented the day as part of my Day of the Life series.
A staycation in Holmfirth
There are lots of things to do in Holmfirth, including wine tasting which is why we went originally. We arrived at Holmfirth and checked in to The Old Bridge Inn a pub and hotel in the centre of Holmfirth
We then hopped in a taxi to take to The Holmfirth Vineyard where we had lunch with the most incredible view of the vineyard, the food tasted great too. After a delicious lunch, we went on our wine tasting tour. You might not believe that a vineyard in Yorkshire can make good wine but they do!
You can read a full review of the Holmfirth Vineyard experience at my business Dreamers who Travel here.
After a fabulous afternoon at the vineyard, we went back to our accommodation at The Old Bridge in Holmfirth to freshen up ready for the evening.
We went for another glass of wine at Oscars Wine Bar before heading a few doors down to Lou and Joe’s which is a place we’d been eyeing up for a while. The burgers at Lou and Joe’s were amazing, we had a wonderful meal there!
We had a wonderful day in Holmfirth from wine tasting to eating burgers what’s not to enjoy?!
