As I mentioned in my May favourites, the month of May seemed to go super quick! May was a good month with lots of cycling, birthday celebrations and an awards ceremony.
Tour de Yorkshire
The month kicked off with a wonderful weekend watching the Tour de Yorkshire. I really enjoyed watching the race in both York and Haworth as well as on the TV! On the Sunday it was my mum’s birthday so we went for an Italian meal too. Fortunately it was also a bank holiday weekend so I could spend the Monday relaxing and recovering from a hectic weekend!
Birthday Celebrations!
The following weekend it was Paul’s birthday (my step-dad) so we had another weekend of celebrations and we also went for another Italian meal!
Rugby League
I am a big sports fan and I’ve watched rugby league for a long time. For quite a few years I was a regular watching Keighley Cougars. Sadly one of their players, Danny Jones, died during a game and so I went down to Cougar Park for their next game. We shared our day on our sports blog Voltage Sport.
Women of Achievement
I love going to good events and in May I attended the Yorkshire Women of Achievement Awards with Sue Ryder. It is a fantastic afternoon at the Royal Armouries and my mum was up for a business award too! I shared a few snippets from the event on my weekly vlog! Keil came along too and was recognised as 1 of only a few men in a room full of 700 women!
A New Bike
The month ended with me getting a new bike! I got a ladies Bianchi bike (of course it’s from Pennine Cycles) and on the last day of May I went for my first ride. To begin with I just rode around my village to get used to everything and I can’t wait to get riding and get fitter over the summer months!
So there were a few highlights from what was a good month. What was your highlight in May? Share below!
