After a day of sunbathing and a couple of happy hour drinks at South Beach we headed out in search of dinner. We hadn’t booked anywhere and were hoping as it was a Monday night we would get a table. Visiting Barbados in August we noticed it generally was quieter than when we have been in March.
We stopped to look at the menu of Naru Restaurant and Lounge, we had a quick nosey when we had walked along the boardwalk a few days earlier so knew that it overlooked the beach. As the food sounded different, it’s described as pan-asian and caribbean, we decided to give it go.
Inside the decor was really fabulous and felt like we were in a very exclusive restaurant. Our seat was oceanside, my favourite place to sit, and we could see the sea. Like when we went to Tides at Holetown, although it is on the boardwalk it’s very quite and not too many people are walking at night.
As we took our seats we had the menu explained to us, there was sushi, noodle dishes, main dishes and lots more. As we don’t eat sushi very often we decided to share a sushi dish for a starter. We chose the Duality Maki Rolls. These had crab meat and 2 had yummy shrimps in them. They were really tasty and we both managed ok with our chop sticks!
For a main course we went for the pan-asian concept courses which were caribbean influenced. Keil had the local chicken cooked two ways, which was very lovely and a bit different. I went for the macadamia nut crusted catch of the day which was barracuda. It was delicious and very filling.
We were both happily full and had a great meal which we weren’t expecting when we set off that evening. The service was fantastic too.
Full and happy we left to have a cocktail in Bubba’s before bed.
