After 5 nights in Holetown at the Tropical Sunset hotel we got a taxi to the south coast. Here we stayed at South Beach which is at Rockley. We have stayed here quite a few times due to the timeshare. I even visited it before it was built! On arrival we received a rum punch and a cold towel, just what we needed after a hot taxi journey.
We usually visit Barbados in March but this time we came in August so we had a different room. The rooms are very spacious, with a small kitchen area. My favourite part is the balcony which looks over the pool and you can see the sea too!
At South Beach we love the pool, it is usually quiet as many people go out for the day or head to the beach which is just over the road. As we had plenty of beach time at Tropical Sunset we spent most days relaxing by the pool. Of course I had my trusty Arbonne suncream on hand as well.

We did visit the beach and got some sun loungers outside the Tiki Bar, this made sense in case we wanted a drink or lunch. The beds and parasol were $60 Barbados but you then got your money back in vouchers to spend at the bar – Win win!
It was really hot on the beach and the waves are not as calm as the west coast but they are not really rough either. I loved cooling off in the caribbean sea. For lunch we ate at the Tiki Bar and I had mahi mahi sandwich which was super tasty and with a great view of the beach. Just above where we were you could see Champers restaurant on the cliff top.

At South Beach on a Tuesday night they have a managers party. Here you get rum punch, fish cakes and chicken wings which were all delicious. We talked to different staff members about our stay and got some advice for our day on the rum tour. Everyone was really friendly.
Most days at South Beach we would stay around the pool in a morning, have a break for lunch by going to Just Grillin’ or somewhere close by and then go back to the pool until we were ready to go up for the evening.
South Beach is a fabulous hotel and I love staying there. I can’t wait to go back someday soon!

Wow, I would love to visit Barbados at least once in my life. It looks and sounds amazing! It’s definitely a contender for our 10th anniversary trip (coming up in another 5 years, but starting to scope out ideas for destinations now!).
