It’s time to share some of my favourite things from the past month! July has been another enjoyable month where I appear to have watched a lot of TV, saw a great film and found a new cycling helmet!
The TV Shows
During July I watched a few things on TV! Wayward Pines was featured in my last favourites and this month it came to end. I am not sure how I felt about the ending, I loved the finale but I was unhappy with the actual end!
The second season of True Detective is now on and I absolutely love it so far! I watched the first series in a weekend on demand and waiting a week this time is a killer. It’s a totally different cast and storyline to the previous season and I can’t wait to see where the story takes us as it builds up to the end.
For some light relief I’ve being catching up on The Big Bang Theory. It’s been a while since I watched it and I think it’s pretty funny. I’ve finished season 6 and about to start number 7.
The Film
This week I went to watch Southpaw at the cinema. I thought it was a fantastic film. It’s certainly intense following the story of Billy played by Jack Gyllenhaal. It also stars Rachel McAdam who’s in True Detective too! I would highly recommend checking it out if you like a good drama!
The Helmet
In my last Fitness Fun post I mentioned I had a new helmet for when I ride my bike. I got a pink Salice helmet from Pennine Cycles and I really like it! I can’t imagine riding my bike without a helmet and it’s always good to have one which looks good too.
The Gratitude Book
In July I restarted writing about all the things I am grateful for. I’ve been meaning to start doing this for a while and over a few days I saw some successful people talk about this, so I saw it as a sign to start! I have The Secret Gratitude Book and on one page I write down all the things I’m grateful for and on the other I write all the things in the future I will be grateful for but I put this in the present tense! It feels good to think about all the good things in my life each morning.
So that’s everything I’ve enjoyed in July – I can’t wait to see what August brings!

[…] Last month I mentioned True Detective 2 had just started. The whole series is only 8 episodes long and finished in August. I loved it, in many ways it was totally different to the first – The main difference being new characters in a different period of time. Stylistically there were also some similarities. Although each character was highly flawed I couldn’t help but like them all. If you haven’t seen any of True Detective I would recommend watching both seasons. Dark, gritty, modern and addictive! […]
